Pernem Goa

Goa has been a fascination for the tourists since time immemorial. In the northern region of Goa, there is a beautiful place by the name Pernem. The best time to visit this place in Goa is between November and March. Pernem is a fusion of spirituality and nature. Predominantly a Hindu town, you can find the coconut groves. Pernem is known for its moderate climate.

Terekol fort

One of the splendid attractions in Pernem is Terekol fort. This was a strong defense during the era of Portuguese. This fort is known for its superfine architecture. From here, the border of Maharashtra is near. The coastline is known for some of the most beautiful natural landmarks of the world which are primarily the beaches.

Sri Bhagvati temple and Sri Sapteshwar temple

In the month of Kartik, there is a huge crowd of devotees. This is as per the Hindu calendar. In these temples, there is a heavy rush during the festivals like Dussera, Zatra and Shimgo. Besides the main deities in these temples, there are some other deities with the fascinating sculpture.

Chandeshwar temple

This is one of the very important temples of Goa. It is located on the Chandranath hill. On the side alter of this temple, you will find the image of lord Buthnath. The design of this temple is made in such a fashion that the moonlight directly falls on Siva lingam. From this temple, you will have the mesmerizing view of Salcete and the taluka of Quepem.

Sri Morjee temple

You can come to this temple during the famous Kalash utsava. This utsava comes after a gap of every two years.? You can reach this temple by travelling a distance of 15 km from Mapusa.? Dussera is among the many festivals celebrated in this temple.

Chapel in Pernem

The chapel was built in the year 1852 AD and was transformed into parish in the year 1855 AD. The renovation of the parish took place in 2002 AD.
