Margao Goa

Margao is also called as Madgoan. This is a renowned cultural hub of Goa. This is also the commercial capital of Goa. This is on the banks of river Sal and is among the oldest settlements in the state of Goa. Before Portuguese came in this part of world, it was called as Matha gram and you could find the monastic endowments. There was an ancient temple of Shiva in this part of the world and it was demolished. A church was erected on the site of the temple. With the passage of time, the city was urbanised. The literal meaning of Madgaon is city of the market.

Church of Holy Spirit

The church of Holy Spirit was constructed after the temple demolishing. Before the demolishing of the temple, the idol was taken to another place in a secret manner. The church was finally sanctified in the year 1595 AD. The interior of the church is of extraordinary design. On the altar, you can also find the image of virgin Mary.

Colva beach

This is a white powdery sand beach and the beauty of the coconut trees look amazing in the fast winds of the sea. It seems as if the sky and the earth are merging here. When coconut trees swing, the experience is special.

Sri Damodar temple

Sri Damodar temple is in the list of top holy places. The idol in this temple was actually at the place where the church of the holy spirit is located. The fact is that at that spot there was a temple before. Damodhar is a form of Lord Shiva. Both Hindu and Christian communities visit this temple.

Church of our Lady of Grace

The beauty of the church building is amazing with a modern architecture. Here you will find a crucifix that is quite uncommon compared to the crucifixes in other churches of Goa. It is not a big church but the beauty around it is mesmerizing.

Benaulim beach

In order to reach this beach, you have to move a distance of 2 km from Colva beach. If you want to be in silence, you can come to this beach because it is not much commercialized. This beach is not completely explored and is known for fishing activities.

Mobor

This is a place where romance is at a peak. It is silent and calm and the end of Colva beach.? At this place, river Assolna merges with the sea. The sunset is amazing and you can see the cliffs.
